Let me make this absolutely clear:
If you are wrongfully convicted, you do NOT pay an attorney to take your case.
Wrongful conviction cases fall under civil rights litigation, and when an attorney takes one of these cases, they are paid only if you win.
That means:
– No upfront fees
– No retainer
– No hourly billing
– No charges to you or your family
When a wrongful conviction case is won, the attorney is paid from the civil rights settlement, usually 33.3% to 40%, depending on the case. That is standard nationwide.
So what DOES cost money?
If you are asking an attorney, paralegal, or investigator to do extra work outside of a legal representation — such as:
– Reviewing transcripts
– Re investigating a case
– Running background checks
– Locating witnesses
– Doing post conviction research
– Preparing documents for you
Those services may have a cost, and the professionals in this group will tell you exactly what that cost is before anything is done.
But the wrongful conviction case itself?
That is FREE unless an attorney takes it on and wins.
This group exists to protect families, not drain them.
This group exists to educate you, not confuse you.
This group exists to support the wrongfully convicted, not profit from them.
